Well the truth is most singers are truely karaoke singers…hows that..ask a singer there favorite singers or bands,, and ask them,,did you ever sing along,,humm sounds like karaoke singer to me..the truth is karaoke is fun to some and to others a great way to make liveing,,,but no matter what have fun…I am also a pro singer,and song writer,AND YES I HAVE A CONTRACT ,,but I love the fact I can take my band with me on a computer,,and it is always ready and I can keep all the money,,my band I sing in,,I have to share money and all the epuipment is mine..the 2 vans that haul it and the crew,,but a band is fun and I would never compare the 2 because my crew are very talented,,so see ya ,I have better things also to do..

I sing at Karaoke, but I wouldn’t call myself a Karaoke singer… I just am not old enough to get a job performing anywhere right now… So really, you should definately put some more specific info as to what you mean… Professionals, as in pro singers over 18, or just professionals in general. K thank you, bye now… I have more important things to do.

Trevor: no question, it is ridiculous. In reality, that’s my point. This post is not about what it means to be a singer, but rather the common traits that I see demonstrated commonly in Karaoke singers. Recently I’ve learned that there is such a thing as a “Professional” Karaoke singer and as you can see from Mailani’s comments above, it is possible for a Pro to want to sing Karaoke. As you may or may not know, while it is true that singers need to work hard at their craft, it doesn’t mean that everyone can sing. The post is first, a humorous look at this skill and second not directed at you. It’s aimed at the Karaoke singers who take things too seriously, and indeed if they are serious, they don’t take the effort that you have to take singing lessons, and in most cases think they are too good to take lessons, hence #1 on my list. Thank you for your response to this apparently “hot” post.

Haha comparing karaoke singers to professional singers is ridiculous. Being a professional or singing karaoke has nothing to do with one’s ability to sing. Being a professional singer often depends more on your marketing strategy than true talent. Singing like any other skill needs practice and hard work. It’s about who’s experienced and not experienced. But obviously the majority of karaoke singers are inexperienced therefor they will lack tone, pitch and general control over their breath support and lyrnx. I’ve been taking vocal lessons for 8 years and sing both professionally and in karaoke. And it’s fun to kick everyone’s ass.
