DoctorTrey.com-S02 episode 024: Ain’t No Big Ting Bruddah
We say Aloha to Don Ho on this episode, and pay tribute to him. We also talk about Paul Drewes who spends his time on KHNL news 8 mispronouncing the very name of our state. It’s Hawai’i Mr. Drewes, not Hawai’e. We also announce that Carlos Villalobos is coming to town, tune in to that episode very soon. We also talk about Amy Winehouse, Sanjaya Malakar (this program was taped well before he got kicked off and if you can’t deal with how late this is, start tuning in live,) Roxanne Darling is in the Chat, because of Twitter, and communicating live with us, and we talk about Bran’s Bag To Stardom. For some reason Bran finds it necessary to read Japanese sentences that he needs to learn from work. Sometimes it’s probably easiest to understand our comedy if you watch the shows we reference, and in this case we’re talking about 30 rock. The Icon mentions that he had a “Lost Encounter.” Oh and Taylor Hicks is probably 63 and Melinda Doolittle is not far behind.

Is anything scripted or are you guys are totally winging it - it’s funny either way. I thought Hawaii is pronounced with a v sound?
Sad about Do Ho, and glad you mentioned him.

Jennifer Hudson has been pretty successful. Jordin Sparks is my favorite.

Jonnie: Thank you so much for listening and commenting. Our shows used to be somewhat scripted. We would normally write everything down that we wanted to cover on a Dry Erase board split into 4 different segments. I ended up not liking that idea because it sounded like we were trying very hard to cover every subject and there were topics I wanted to spend more time on. So, now we are doing it with out any planning at all. It’s no so much a “show” as it is us just sitting around “talking story.” I happy to hear that you think it’s funny and I guess that’s because we’re pretty care free and just willing to talk about whatever. Do I feel the need to entertain our listeners? The short answer is yes, but at the same time, if it’s not entertaining, that won’t stop us from doing it. The only way we would stop is if listeners stopped listening. So thank you for tuning in.
Ok so for the V sound. The “v” and “w” sounds are pretty much interchangeable. As a matter of fact, as far as I know, the name of our State can be pronounced 4 different ways acceptably.
Yes Monday’s suck ass!

Damn Hekili, you’re on it. Jennifer Hudson should destroy The Icon’s Theory!

You guys freckin crack me up. I could’ve sworn listening to your guys “Ainokea, Hu’kea, Aikea” comments that I was listening to an old Rap (Reiplinger) bit. I don’t mean to puff up your egos, but it really is pretty funny to listen to you guys wala’au about nothing. I’ll be in the studio this Thursday (a new studio downtown) to lay down some tracks. I’ll send them your way when I’m done.
A hui hou

Don’t worry about our egos Keemail, basically it’s about as big as egos can get. Thank you for your comments, and really glad to hear that you’re recording again!
