Fundraiser in Waikele for Virginia Tech Victims
I thought that although this isn’t music related, y’all might be interested.
Jeremiah and Heidi Rasmussen sent an email over to me regarding a fundraiser they are holding for the Victims of the Virginia Tech Tragedy. The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 5th. From 9am till 7pm at Office Max in Waikele. They will be accepting cash and check donations. Checks can be made out to UWMRF, please indicate in the memo line the gift is specifically for United In Caring Fund. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be sent to the United Way to:
1. Fulfill unmet needs of the victims and their families, including emergency needs and mental health services.
2. Support community-wide recovery through programs like mental health support and children’s programs to address school violence.
They are holding this in part with Office Max, Aloha Signs, and United Way of Montgomery, Radford, and Floyd counties in Virginia.
This is a very nice way to share Aloha so if you’re in the area or aren’t doing anything, please be sure to stop by. Incidentally this isn’t entirely non-music related because Heidi is actually a singer!
