Introducing Tropical Storm Flossie
Posted in DoctorTrey.com News on August 15th, 2007 by Dr. TreyContinuing the downgrading trend, Flossie is now being called a Tropical Storm.¬† Thanks to all of you who have prayed for Hawai‚Äòi.¬† It was much needed and is much appreciated.¬† We’re not out of¬† the woods yet though.¬† We’re expected our state to get drenched in the next few days and frankly, a tropical storm is no laughing matter.¬† Incidentally, one of my favorite local albums of all time is Tropical Storm by the Peter Moon Band on Panini Records.

Flossie weakens further
Posted in DoctorTrey.com News on August 14th, 2007 by Dr. TreyYes it’s true, Hurricane or not it has been downgraded to a category 1.¬† What does this mean to us here in Hawai‚Äòi?¬† Well, mostly that this storm has decided that we have gone through enough with Brush fires and earthquakes, and it’s time to give Hawai‚Äòi a break.¬† Thanks Flossie.¬† It is expected that Flossie will continue to weaken and we are quite thankful.¬† Thanks to all out there who have sent their positive energy and prayers.¬† I think it helped.

Flossie Weakens
Posted in DoctorTrey.com News on August 14th, 2007 by Dr. Trey
This picture of the Flossie’s path reminds me so much of an ultra sound. When my wife and I were having a baby, I remember always looking at the ultrasound to give us an idea of what to expect, yet never knowing till it actually “hit.”
The news today is a little better than yesterday regarding Hurricane Flossie. The unpredictable beast has been downgraded from a Cat 3 to a Cat 2. Experts still expect Flossie to pass south of Hawai‘i Island, offering up monster surf and apparently people will get wet. Here on O‘ahu, yes the weather does seem a bit different but I could be imagining things.
We’re going through an interesting time here in Hawai‚Äòi with last nights earthquake (if you’re not on Twitter you should be as Keola Donaghy of Nahenahe.net gave us up to the minute reports on the Big Isle quake) and now with the Hurricane. It sounds like maybe God’s watering the plants and we just happen to be hangin’ out in His garden.

Kelli Heath is famous now
Posted in DoctorTrey.com News on August 13th, 2007 by Dr. Trey
Well, the story isn’t actually about her, but she’s been deeply involved with the Talk Story Radio for awhile. There’s a story in the Advertiser today regarding their podcast. Oh for those that don’t know who Kelli Heath is, she’s been on our show before with the group called the Girlas, and she has actually worked at the Doctor’s Office on many occasions as a sound engineer as she was learning to engineer. Congratulations Kelli and Jeff Gere.

Hurricane Flossie - Not The Greatest News
Posted in DoctorTrey.com News on August 13th, 2007 by Dr. TreyHere at DoctorTrey.com and The Doctor’s Office Recording Studio, we know how much we are loved by by our website visitors so we thought we’d update you on our situation here in Hawaii. According to the Honolulu Advertiser, Flossie has apparently decided that it’s gonna stay strong as a Category 3 Hurricane as it brushes the Hawaiian Islands. The Big Island is expected to get the heaviest part of it and are now in fact under a Hurricane watch. If you’ve never been in a Hurricane before, let me tell you from experience, It’s really wet. Provided that we still have electricity, we’ll continue to update our status.
