Kanoa is back in studio

Posted in Music, Video on July 13th, 2007 by Dr. Trey

The last time Kanoa Kukaua was here, we were recording all of the instrument parts. Now hes back in town (he actually resides on Maui) This time hes laying down all the vocal parts for his upcoming full length album. Also on this video are Ipo (Kanoa’s Manager) and Mailani of Mighty J who is collaborating on a song with Kanoa. They are pretty much just planning out the format of the song here.

You may have heard the name John Gruhler before. It was probably heard in the realm of music distribution, but he stopped by the studio yesterday and Kanoa of Gomega asked him to lay down a little flute part during his visit.

This thing is basically a delay box. It’s called the DL4 by Line 6 but it offers so much more than just simple delay. Check out Kanoa as he readies himself to record a song based only on 1 track of recording through the DL4

Posted in DoctorTrey.com News, Hawaii Music Industry, Music on June 22nd, 2007 by Dr. Trey

Wayne HaradaYou might think that I too often talk about how great Mighty J is, so maybe I should have someone else tell you instead. Last week, it was John Berger of the Honolulu Starbulletin, this week it’s Wayne Harada of Honolulu Advertiser. He even created a new word using my name! Trey-mendous! Thanks Wayne.
