This album is Jroq's debut solo CD. She is otherwise known for her work with the group Kanalo. John Berger of the Honolulu Starbulletin calls this project an "impressive collection of original hip-hop and smoothly mixed "urban" music." Apparently many others agree as this album won the Hawai'i Music Awards R&B album of the year for the 2004 HMA's. Both Jroq and producer Dr. Trey are not normally known for this genre of music. They do, however seem to come together with a synergistic energy that compliments eachother very well to fuse Hip Hop with many different genre of music thus creating what Jroq calls "New Flavah, New Style." It's probably best put by Wayne Harada of the Honolulu Advertiser who calls this album "The Essense Of Cool."
